Betting The
NHL Conference Semifinals at Online Sportsbooks
It is crunch
time in the conference semifinal round of this year’s NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. Nothing has gone according to script
in these playoffs with multiple upsets along the way. The Carolina Hurricanes
qualified for the postseason as a wild card team and they just completed a
stunning 4-0 sweep against the New York Islanders to earn the first spot in the
Eastern Conference Finals. The other three battles rage on with all the top online sportsbooks posting updated series price odds as
well as their hockey betting lines
for the next game in each best-of-seven showdown.
Boston
Bruins vs. Columbus Blue Jackets
The other
matchup in the East pits the Boston Bruins against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Boston grinded its way past Toronto in seven games in the opening round while
Columbus pulled off one of the biggest upsets in NHL postseason history with a
four-game sweep over the top-seeded Tampa Bay Lightning.
NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs - Betting the
3-Way Line
The Bruins took
that all-important 3-2 edge in this series with Saturday night’s wild 4-3 win.
Game 6 in Columbus is set for Monday night with the Blue Jackets listed as -120
favorites. If they can prevail, a deciding Game 7 back in Boston will take
place on Wednesday night. Turning to the updated series price, the Bruins are
heavy -360 favorites. Given what we have seen so far in this year’s playoffs,
all the value lies in Columbus at +300 odds on the series price.
San Jose
Sharks vs. Colorado Avalanche
Each team in this
Western Conference semifinal clash has traded wins through the first five games
with San Jose holding the 3-2 edge heading into Monday night’s Game 6 in
Colorado. The Avalanche are slight -115 favorites to win and force a Game 7 in
San Jose on Wednesday. However, the Sharks are heavy -360 to win the series and
advance to the conference finals.

Colorado is a
crossover wild card team from the Central Division. It advanced to this round
by stunning the top-seeded Calgary Flames in five games, so it is safe to say
that the Avalanche are already playing with house money against the Sharks.
Once again, with little value betting San Jose in this series, you would almost
have to take a shot on Colorado’s +300 odds to win this showdown in seven
games.
St. Louis
Blues vs. Dallas Stars
Heading into
Sunday’s Game 6 with Dallas leading the series 3-2, the Stars closed as -130
favorites to win and close things out in six games. The series price odds
heading into that game heavily favored Dallas at -300 with St. Louis set as a
+240 underdog.

The Blues took
matters into their own hands with a convincing 4-1 win as +110 road underdogs
to force a deciding Game 7 back in St. Louis on Tuesday night. The early
betting line at most online sportsbooks have the Blues set as -140 favorites
with the moneyline odds on Dallas set at +120. The first two games in St. Louis
were split before the Stars took the 3-2 series lead with a 2-1 road win last
Friday night as +130 underdogs.
Dallas is
another one of those overachieving NHL teams that pulled off the unexpected
opening round upset by eliminating Nashville in six games. The Stars have
matched up well against the Blues through the first six games, but St. Louis
has been playing like a team on a mission since the All-Star break in the
regular season. Add in the fact that Dallas goalie Ben Bishop allowed four
goals on just 20 shots in Sunday’s loss and all the value for Tuesday night
goes to the Blues winning Game 7.
