Winning the NBA Championship
The second round of the NBA playoffs concluded
on Mother’s Day with two game sevens on the schedule. The Trail Blazers
defeated the Nuggets (100-96). Denver blew a huge lead in the opening half and
CJ McCollum scorched them to the tune of 37 points (58.6 FG%).
Not to be outdone, the Raptors eliminated the
76ers (92-90) after Kawhi Leonard scored a buzzer-beater to win the game. It
was the first time in NBA playoff history that a team won on a buzzer-beater in
game 7. Leonard led all players in the game with 41 points.

Who Will Win the NBA Eastern Conference Finals?

Series Price: Bucks -285 vs. Raptors +240
The Milwaukee Bucks have been waiting for the
winner of the Raptors vs. 76ers and will be more rested than Toronto. The Bucks
also have home court advantage in the series. There is no doubt the Bucks are
the better team, but the Raptors have a fighting chance.

Milwaukee went 3-1 in the regular season
series against Toronto and two of the wins were by double-digits. The Bucks are
averaging 116.9 PPG in the playoffs thanks in large part to the bench scoring
37.4 PPG, which ranks first out of the four remaining teams.
Part of the reason the Raptors have struggled
in the playoffs is because their bench have averaged 21.6 PPG during the
playoffs compared to 36.2 PPG during the regular season. If they want to
contend with the Bucks the bench will need to play more productively.

This series will pit Giannis Antetokounmpo and
Kawhi Leonard against each other. I could see Leonard outplaying the Greek
Freak in this series and if the Raptors bench outplays the Bucks bench in this
series they could win. I like the value on the underdogs in the East.

Who Will Win the NBA Western Conference Finals

Series Price: Warriors -520 vs. Trail Blazers +425
Kevin Durant was injured in the second round
and he has already been ruled out of game 1 in the finals. However, even
without Durant, the Warriors have shown they can win at the highest level and
I’m not convinced the Trail Blazers will be able to keep this series close.
Betting
The NBA Conference Finals at Online Sportsbooks
McCollum has been playing great and Damian
Lillard is a top PG in the league, but both are known to be inconsistent.
Lillard played poorly in game 7 against the Nuggets and I expect the Warriors
to do everything they can to disrupt the two stud Portland guards.
Would I bet on the Warriors winning the series
at these odds? No. I’d rather target single games in the series. I don’t expect
this series to go past five games. The Warriors are the more experienced team
and while Durant is out, look for the rest of the team to step up.

Golden State Warriors Advance to the NBA Championship
It’s unlikely the Warriors are going to lose
this series. Durant likely will be back at some point and even without him the
Warriors are still more talented than any team. This is a chance for Stephen
Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green to all step up and win another NBA
Championship to continue the Warriors dynasty.
I’d love to see a team topple the Warriors,
but it’s unlikely that’ll happen.
